As one door closes another one…

…doesn’t open!

Over dinner last night Ms Q says “you know if you want to you can find a 100k race that you have to travel to to replace Twin Peaks, but see if you can find one that’s before mid March”, I know you always have to travel to a race but in this instance this means planes and the like. The mid March reference is the time the in-laws depart back the spring thawed UK having hibernated in SoCal for 5 ½ months. So I am on the ‘net pounding the keys and do you know what I find…nada! Well that's not quite true, there's the Orange Curtain 100k which is a 10x10k on a mostly concrete bike path!

The search continues…

  6. Yeah...that doesn't sound like too much fun...running around in circles for 60 miles...

    You'll find something...

  7. FYI, This is the last year they're doing a 100k option for the Coyote Two Moon race. It's also just two weeks after the canceled Twin Peaks.

  8. That's too bad. Keep looking! I can tell you that in May, there's the Keys 100 and 50 Ultra -- from Key Largo to Key West. But like I said, that's May, a little past March. But still, if you're cleared to travel, perhaps you can negotiate on the timing with the wifey?

  10. April 10th or 11th will be the first ever Zumbro Buttoms 100k & 100M in Zumbro, MN. (this is just outside of Rochester, MN - an hour southeast of the Twin Cities.

Frontier Airlines could get you here cheap.

No website yet, but check out

Maybe we would make some Lutefisk for ya!
