High Rouleurs Society and 6th Annual SMMC Week 2

A week of catch up. After being out town for most of the last two weeks it was nice to be at home and have some normalcy, well that is a relative thing I suppose! I did have a couple of late nights with work but they are by far the exception that the norm.

Here is how it shook out;

Monday, spent in the car driving back from Sonoma and Vineman, you can read Becca’s race report here. Got home late and was on the phone with work past midnight. Basically didn’t even look at the bike.

Tuesday Sufferfest Angels; Well that sucked or to be honest I sucked. Last hard build before HRS ride. Solid intervals with climbing tonight but struggled on highs, been a while since riding Sufferfest consistently and it shows!

Wednesday; Out on the Mountain Bike. Some trail fun with Becca as I have another late night and this was what I could fit it.

Thursday; dog tire from working through the night!

Friday Sufferfest The Hunted; Dug into this pretty hard. Still about 10% down on the target but was happy with the overall end ride. 5 mile splits were pretty solid. Then rode a local loop later in the afternoon, TGIF!

Saturday; Got out early, part gear check with my DA C24s and part ride for speed!

Sunday; recon of some of the hills for next weekend’s HRS ride. Needless to say it was a long hot day, 74 miles and over 10,000’ of gain! Latigo, Stunt, Cold Canyon aka 7 Minute Hill (wrong way) Fernwood and Corral Canyon. All was good till last climb had to stop twice to cool down made it to the end...eventually! Big day in the hills, bigger days next weekend! Becca was out in full force supporting me! There’s no way I could do this crazy stuff without her!

That’s it! 199 miles and 14 hours! Time to reset for this week!
